Editorial policy

Useful before monetized.

Our editorial process is designed so a page must provide independent value even if every ad slot is removed.

Sources

We prefer current primary or first-party industry sources and clearly dated publisher datasets. Third-party SEO metrics are kept separate from construction-cost evidence.

What a source check means

A checked date records a research review, not continuous monitoring. It does not establish that a price is representative of every region or project. Shared source data is not counted as independent confirmation. Material claims should be linked where they appear, with project scope preserved.

Model review

Calculator changes must identify the evidence and a model version, keep the guide’s examples consistent, and pass calculation checks. A source-page change alone does not authorize new rates. Automated testing checks software behavior; it does not certify contractor pricing.

AI assistance

AI is used to assist research organization, drafting, code, and quality checks. It is not allowed to invent sources, professional credentials, project results, quotes, reviews, or local price evidence. Content is not bulk auto-published.

Images

AI-generated photorealistic visuals that could be mistaken for a real project must be labeled as illustrative. They are never presented as evidence of a completed customer project.

Monetization

Advertising or affiliate relationships do not change calculator formulas, source selection, or editorial conclusions. Paid placements will be disclosed and kept visually separate from calculator controls and navigation.

Corrections

Material factual or model errors are corrected and the page update date is changed when appropriate. See our corrections policy.
